I have a similar problem with the ResMed p30i because the hard edges of the prongs bore into my skin where they rest on my upper lip. I cut strips of micro terry material from running socks and tape one under my nose with the invaluable Cover Roll Stretch Tape. This provides just enough cushioning and breathability without causing any leakage. I know exactly what you mean about the silicone against the skin problem. I couldn't use the n30i because of it. Silicone is too occlusive.

I clean my humidifier box, nasal pillow attachment, and headgear the top layer of my dishwasher. I’ve never had a problem. The only reason I don’t put in the hose is because the tubing it can’t get the detergent all the way through. I place the tubing in a basin with 2 ounces of household bleach & dawn dishwashing soap then soak for 20 minutes then rinse and air dry. Again, no problem.

Nice video. I think the advice to review the flow tracings is awesome, though I'm guessing it might be a little difficult to implement in a busy clinical setting with patients sometimes having limited technical facility. One question: How are you sure that the apparently "corrected" inspiratory flow profile is truly representative of corrected flow, and not just representative of the nature of BPAP? I'm skeptical you can detect flow limitation on BPAP given that the shape of the BPAP applied pressure curve will naturally eliminate the ability to detect flow limitation. That is, you'll see an apparently "normal" breath whether there's flow limitation or not because BPAP "draws" a normal breath. To get a little technical, flow limitation "works" because it's a sign that linear relationship of flow to effort has broken down, and the effort to breathe in proportionally exceeds the actual breath drawn. Flow and effort are *mismatched*. This works because "effort" (or negative thoracic pressure) is upstream of the flow, and the flattened breath implies a large differential in pressure between the airway opening and the thoracic cavity. If you apply a pressure-controlled breath triggered by detected patient effort, you're applying a positive pressure downstream of the flow, and therefore inspiratory curve flattening is no longer a reliable marker of flow not matching effort.

Since the weather has been getting warmer, I have sometimes been pulling my CPAP off while asleep (apparently pretty early in the night). I think that the heated humidifier/tubing made me too hot in combination with the weather. Sleeping without my CPAP for one or two nights makes me feel like absolute trash. I could not imagine going two weeks without it these days. Also, I looooooove Mask Bright, it is my new favorite thing. I'm an RT with lots of hospital experience and have learned so much from you since starting in the DME world a few months ago. Thank you!!!

June 2024 Maybe you would have healed faster if he had used the 'cauterize' technique??? You might get funding help (use this video to explain) from the staff of Melinda French Gates. She recently started her own 1 billion fund to help improve the lives of women. Maybe she could pay you to be on call to answer questions from men before (and after, for pep talks) they go in to have the procedure. This might be done on Zoom, etc. to help the process. Maybe you (and similar men who are glad that they got it done!) could create your own company selling (she could buy them for donations to clinics!) a 'care bag' on wheels; checklist; professional ice packs; professional supportive underwear in their exact size; clean clothes; access to their own washer & drier, inside their own 'tiny house' inside a supportive, tiny home community, so they don't have to carry heavy loads to a laudromat (not a typo!!!) frequent hang out for drug dealers, as well as public transportation, that is why owning & maintaining your own 'tiny house community for men after the vasectomy, is such a good idea, keep them out of trouble while they recover!!! (thousands are dying daily from fentanyl laced 'party drugs' even at U.C. Berkeley fraternity!!!...(son of the woman who co founded You Tube and nephew of the woman who started company called '23 & Me') ...maybe include in the 'care bag on wheels' your website, paid staff to be on call 24/7 phone number to call in case of needing to be seen immediately. You could own your own 'tiny home village' (see the video documentary by Christian & Alexis at 'Tiny House Expedition' parts one and two on how to create your own legal tiny home community. Buy their book, a checklist while designing your own 'tiny house'. This way, men could go through the after care in a supportive, caring environment, away from kids and pets jumping on their lap, away from heavy lifting, everything they need brought to them until they fully heal, to watch 'March Madness', etc., together (on screen inside their own 'tiny house' all on same level, no ladder, no stairs, just ramp to outdoor deck chairs, table, see 'Arched Cabins' in Texas; see 'Martha loves her shipping container home at 'Incredible Tiny Homes' these should be built on top of floating platforms to save everyone who lost their home from flooding in Iowa...8 billion people will eventually face flooding eventually...with indoor salad garden using book 'The Vertical Farm' by Dr. Despommier (not a typo!!!) & Majora (not a typo!!!) Carter (expert on saving endangered plants)) with a doctor and nurse living nearby 24/7 in case of any emergency. This could be done in every zip code, all over the world, but especially in the USA!!! This could speed up millions of men getting it done. Regarding pimples… are you washing you face before bed? Pimples are frequently caused by sweat and oils from the skin + friction from clothing. If you work out then don’t shower, the sweat plus friction from clothing can cause acne. Staying in sweaty clothes is a breading ground for bacteria. If your face is not washed, the dirt/sweat/oils that have gathered over the day plus friction from CPAP mask could cause acne. I’ve dealt with acne my whole life; I have not had a problem with the CPAP mask. If it continues to be a problem, apply over the counter Differin cream in the area under the mask to help prevent it. You can apply moisturizer over the Differin, if it’s too drying.

I have rosacea and perioral dermatitis. These are the best thing for my nasal mask. My only downside is I wear small and they do not make them for the small so I end up having to work with it a little bit

I think I’m going to ask my specialist about the mask because I breathe thru my mouth. Any advise?? Super dry mouth though. Uff 2024

Used Tap water in Australia for the past six years guess what I am still alive and clean it the same as you. Intersting thing is I have never had any bacteria or mold etc grow in my masks either...

I have to say I am not a sweaty person but I have to wear a full face due to being an open mouth breather. So found that a little what? I am struggling though with the right mask. I don’t feel there is much help when figuring it out with where I was sent to get my equipment. I went from f20 that killed my nose left my eyes so puffy to the one with memory foam which was so much better but felt like I was constantly fixing all night due to leaking. To the f30 which comfort better but again always fixing through the night so never getting full night sleep plus I am a flipper so would have been nice to have been directed maybe to the f30i even. It so hard to figure everything out with no help! I only started it in April and already a frustration! Do you have any suggestions or is it a continuous battle? 😳

I can't get a seal from the Resmed F 20 foam cushion it leaks at the bridge of my nose. I would like trying these cushions out since I find even with the F P Vitra mask eventually I have to tighten it down extremely tight the longer I use it. Could my seal on it be from using it 60 to 90 days making it a weaker seal?

I got a new noncancer foam machine from ResMed Autoset 11... I also switched to the Resmed P30i. The machine is near silent and I am able to better tollerate it without the EPR enabled.

I can’t deal with the masks on cpap or bipap so I got the inspire implant. I don’t mind the scars it’s a process of healing

I am hoping you or someone can help me. I have been on acpap for 10 years now. I moved to another country, and I can not find a sleep specialist anywhere. My pressure, to me, seems to be a bit much. I am constantly getting blotting when I wake up. I used to get my pressure reevaluated every so often, and they wouldn't change much. But something has changed in the last 4 years of me living in the country I am in now. The only thing I can think of is I have lost weight since moving here. I don't know if that could be it or what? I dig your channel. It's been a big help to me.

They took me off my BiPap (had Mild OSA but then got Centrals) so now I’m on ASV but I get aerophagia and I think it’s damaging my lungs with high volume. So I’m on ASV (not Auto), EPAP 4, and I was on PS 3-10. I just lowered PS to 3-8. Hopefully this fixes it.

I have all three dreamwear masks. I agree with you on the favorite. I had air leaks with the full face & the pillow mask. My favorite is the nasal mask.
